During the month of November the science classes at SJH participated in the 21st Century Recycle competition. 1772 containers were collected which is equivalent to 97 pounds. Recycling this many containers conserves 20 gallons of gas and averted greenhouse gases at a level equivalent to growing three medium sized coniferous trees for ten years.
Seale Junior High School is currently ranked 143rd in the nation (out of 1693 schools) after this weeks recycling efforts.
Mrs. Kattner's 2nd period class brought in the most containers with 536. The 8th grade math teachers came in second with 282 containers and third place went to Ms. Rodriguez' 2nd period class with 134 containers. The contest continues for the month of December. Keep bringing in your recyclables.
