A junior high student council is a student-run organization that helps to make decisions about school-wide activities, and to represent the student body. Student councils can help to: 

  • Develop leadership
    • Students can learn leadership skills by organizing and carrying out activities and service projects.

    • Student councils can help to create a positive school experience and improve school morale.

  • Share student ideas
    • Student councils can help to share student ideas, interests, and concerns with teachers and school administrators.

    • Student councils can help to raise funds for school-wide activities, such as community projects and social events.
