Katherine Pruneda is a dedicated Jr. High Girls Athletic Coordinator with a passion for nurturing young athletes both on and off the field. With a Bachelor's degree in Pre-Law and Psychology, complemented by a minor in Kinesiology, and a Master's in Psychology from Texas A&M University-Kingsville, Coach KP brings a unique blend of academic expertise and practical coaching experience to the role. Certified in Kinesiology K-12, Coach KP is committed to fostering a positive athletic environment where students can thrive.

Emphasizing a coaching philosophy that prioritizes life lessons over championships, Coach KP believes that “Great coaches don’t coach to win championships; they coach to teach and prepare kids for life. The championships come as a byproduct.” This approach inspires athletes to develop resilience, teamwork, and leadership skills.

In addition to coaching,Katherine dedicates 8th period each day to providing support and guidance to student-athletes, ensuring they are well-prepared for both their athletic and personal journeys—except on game days, when the focus shifts to competition and celebration of their hard work.
