Anisa Perez Chavera is an educational leader with extensive experience in teaching and administration. She graduated from Robstown High School in 1998 and went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Bilingual Emphasis in 2002, followed by a Masters in Education Administration in 2004, both from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi.
Throughout her years in education, she has continued taking on various leadership roles in both Site-Based Decision-Making (SBDM) Committees and the District Education Improvement Council and served as a Curriculum Writer for 3 years. Anisa also contributed as the Writer/Editor of the San Pedro Newsletter and has coached Destination Imagination and cheerleading at both the elementary and high school levels. Her teaching career includes 6 years as Head Teacher, 3 years as Campus Science Fair Coordinator and she was honored as Teacher of the Year in 2012.
Anisa has been dedicated to community education, designing and delivering a series of ESL classes at the Keach Family Library, which grew from 2 to over 20 students. These classes helped Spanish speakers learn to read, write, speak, and understand English. She was a co presenter at the CEDAR Literacy conference at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and currently volunteers on the Robstown Police Department’s Civilian Assistance Board which helps organize community events and create community involvement. In 2024, Anisa was honored with the “Above and Beyond Award” by the Robstown Education Foundation for her dedication, commitment and exemplary support of teachers and students of Robstown ISD.
